Weekly Meal Plan DIY

As we have a hungry toddler at home I wanted to start organizing our weekly meals. What was important to me? I wanted to do my grocery shopping only once a week and be able to buy (almost) everything at the beginning of the week. I wanted to have the option of switching meals from day to day and of course I wanted it to look pretty (=. So after a lot of internet research I came up with this:

HOW TO:

For the outside use a common frame in your desired design (the bigger the easier to fit everything on it).

Then choose two different papers you like (patterned, plain, newspaper, - what ever fits into your kitchen).

After assembling the papers (I used gluestrip to glue it to the back of the frame) design your title. I used alphabet stickers but you can also use a stamp or if you have a pretty handwriting (I don't ^^) just write the title down.

You will need 14 clothespins, 7 for each side. Write one day of the week on each pin. Then glue them on to the board. I used Patafix (UHU) to glue them on to the board but you can use whatever is strong enough to hold the clothespins.

For the boxes I used empty crayon boxes and covered them in gift wrap paper. I also used Patafix for those.

MEAL CARDS:
I wrote down our favorite family meals on the computer and printed them out. What is so special about the meal cards is, that on the backside of each meal you can find all the ingredients you will need to prepare the meal.

After cutting them I let them run through the laminator so they were more solid, but if you don't have a laminator it doesnt really matter.

So every sunday evening I sit down with my family and we decide what we will eat for the next week. Then after choosing the cards I turn them around and add all the ingredients I need to my shopping list. On monday morning we go grocery shopping and then we're usually good for the week. Not only have I now way more time for other stuff, but we are saving a lot of money too with just buying what we need.

I also have a couple cards like: "Restaurant", "Take Away", "Away", ect..

Oh and for the right side you do the same with desserts. Or if you wish you could make one side for lunch and one side for dinner.

I hope you enjoyed my post.
Have fun crafting (=
